JoGees Hangouts

Hey there, JoGees! Do you remember that time D-Gee and joverine held a special episode of JoGeeTV, invited some fellas to the show (cheeks-74, :devDarkKenjie: and thekidKaos) and they shared some great Table-Taffy-Studios projects and stuff? They did it all through Google Hangouts.

If you're not familiar with this Google service, think of Hangouts as a mixture of Livestream and Skype. You can chat and video call/conference with other people, from different parts of the world like Skype and you can share your whole, or parts, of your desktop and webcam much like Livestream.

We're going to use Hangouts exactly the way it was intended; to hangout with each other and have fun with other fellow JoGees! It's a great place to chat and draw with everyone in between JoGeeTV episodes, even if episodes end up being several weeks apart! It's also a great outlet for feedback and critiques on your artwork, including JACs.

Now, before we jump into the whole Hangouts thing, I'd like to mention a few things about the service and what may be required for you to use Hangouts successfully.

It's free to use, but a Google+ account is required, which is also free. You can sign up for a Google+ account here.
If you already have a Google+ account, that's awesome! A JoGees Hangout Google+ Community has been set up (for Google+ things) and you can join the community here.
Hangouts are supposed to work across all platforms and internet browsers, but it works best in Chrome. A plugin is required for PC/Mac users and you can find that here.
Hangouts appears to only support up to 10 people at a time, for video and screen sharing. For regular text chats, it supports up to 100 people.
You can join a hangout without a webcam or mircrophone.

Here's how JoGees Hangouts are going to work...

Updates on the Hangout sessions will be posted here or the JoGees (Google+) community page.
Joining the page will allow you to receive notifications on Hangout events and updates.

If you want to start your own Hangout with the JoGees, feel free to. Make sure you post the link to your Hangout Party on the JoGees Community Page or leave a comment below at least a few days, to a week, in advance.

So, now that you know...I hope Hangouts becomes a great addition to this already awesome community! It has, afterall, been Dax and Joe approved!
